Safety knowledge for excavator construction
1. Hold on to the door frame when going downhill
Despite the remarkable off-road capabilities of excavators, navigating steep slopes, especially during descent or disembarking from trailers, poses a significant hazard often overlooked. The excavator's forward tilt can tempt drivers to brace themselves against the windshield or door frame with their left hand while operating with their right. In such scenarios, if the door is unlocked and open, gravity can swiftly slam it shut with considerable force, posing a severe risk of injury to anyone's hand resting on the frame.
Safety Reminder: Always ensure the excavator cab door is securely locked, regardless of whether it's open or closed. Avoid relying on the door frame for support or balance. This practice ensures your safety and prevents potentially accidents.
2.Maintain Low Profile While Walking:
Novices and apprentices often mistakenly believe that elevating the excavator's boom to its maximum height, fully extending the stick, and positioning the bucket upwards offers an enhanced view during maneuvering. Additionally, they find it impressive to rotate the machine in this configuration. However, this practice is highly hazardous. By raising the working device excessively, the excavator's center of gravity shifts upwards, significantly increasing the risk of overturning on uneven terrain.
Safety Reminder: Shun the urge to impress with flashy moves while walking or working. Instead, prioritize stability and safety by keeping a keen eye on the ground beneath your feet. Always maintain a low profile by keeping the working device in a safe, stable position.
